Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because it’s gruesome and jarring but incredibly nostalgic. Aside from collecting garbage bags full of Whoppers and Kit Kat bars, some of my favorite childhood memories included preparing for our extravagant Halloween parties by defacing the house with fake blood and mummy wrapping (toilet paper). This year, however, instead of decorating with the average cotton cobweb and plastic spider, I have decided to go in an entirely creative new route.
How can you incorporate new Halloween ideas in your home?
1. Start out small – don’t do something you’re not 100% confident in. There’s always time to go bigger next year!
2. You don’t have to stick to the orange, black and green theme that is “traditional.” We love the idea of making it more of a seasonal décor with iconic farmstand-looking décor of straw bales, pumpkins and squash, and fall leaves.
3. Lighting does wonders
4. Find your inner child and run with it!
