When it comes to inviting guests to an event, especially during the holiday season, you need to make sure that you set the tone with proper invitations. Depending on if you have a theme or just want to impress your attendees, nothing says “You’re Invited” better than personalized stationery. Invites give party goers an upcoming preview to the affair; creating curiosity, wonder and excitement. CCE turns to our partner Deb Turkot with Charmant Invitations when we look for client collateral. She creates pieces that are charming, creative and uniquely customized. Let’s see what Deb had to say about putting together stationery for the busy season.
CCE: How much time do you need to allow to design holiday invites?
CI: We typically ask for 1-2 weeks for holiday invitations, depending on the quantity requested. This includes ordering specialty supplies or paper, laying out the design, printing / drawing / lettering, assembling and quality checks. Just know it’s NEVER too early to place your order!
CCE: Do you recommend the invitation match the party decor?
CI: While invitations don’t HAVE to match the party decor, we recommend they coordinate on some level. Your invitation sets the tone for your party and lets guests know what they can expect. A cohesive look and feel also highlights the host’s attention to detail.
CCE: Are there different price points you work within for each client?
CI: We’ve designed Holiday party invitations and Holiday greeting cards for all different budgets. When we sit down with our clients for the first time, we talk about two very important things: the vision for the event or announcement and the budget. And when these two things don’t align, we work our magic to deliver a design that makes clients and wallets equally happy.
CCE: How do we handle last minute added guests to the list?
CI: Of all the festivities we design for (weddings, birthdays, baby showers), no guest list changes quite like holiday party lists! Mostly due to the fact that holiday travel plans can change up until the last minute, Charmant Invitations ALWAYS plans accordingly. We’ll often make an extra invitation or two at no charge to the client. We also keep the supplies used for the order on-hand leading up to the client’s party. This ensures that if we get a last-minute phone call to accommodate new guests, we’re ready to jump!
CCE: What was your favorite invite to design?
CI: Over the years, we’ve designed some pretty spectacular holiday party invitations and it would be impossible to pick just one. But one that comes to mind as a top contender was done last year for a lovely lady who hosts a “Favorite Things” party every year. It was very formal with black and silver and touch of red. We’re smitten with glitter and all things that sparkle, so when this client asked for all the glitz and glam, we were happy to oblige!
Wow! What interesting and important notes Deb. Thank you for your insights and accommodating services. Charmant Invitations is the perfect vendor when you’re looking for that specific call to action and exceptional customer service.
‘Tis the season,
